Leader: Diane Johnson
MCCC wants to express love and concern for the people in our church and in our community. Prayer shawls are given to individuals in emotional pain, whether due to illness, loss or life crisis. The shawls (or lap robes) may be knitted, crocheted or quilted by members of the MCCC family. During the making of the shawl, the crafter offers prayers for the healing and comfort of the person who will receive that particular shawl. Additionally, the shawl is passed at Church Service, so that it is individually blessed by members of the congregation.
Shawls are in stock at the Church and may be requested from any clergy, elder or OWM.
This ministry is spiritually fulfilling both to the person making the shawl and to those in who receive them. They serve as a symbol of both
God’s love and the embracement of our congregation. If you would like
to help the poor-in-spirit feel that they are wrapped in God's love, consider becoming a part of this ministry by contacting Diane Johnson (firstname.lastname@example.org or 440-829-8858).
